Stamp Out Hunger!

For the 16th year now, Campbell Soup and the National Association of Letter Carriers are joining forces to "stamp" out hunger (clever, no?) and on Saturday, May 10th you can help (with very little effort involved).

Stamp Out Hunger is the nation's largest single-day food drive, having collected more than 836 million pounds of food since its inception in 1993.

To help Stamp Out Hunger this year, simply leave a sturdy bag containing non-perishable foods, such as canned soup, fruits or vegetables, pasta, rice or cereal next to your mailbox prior to the time of regular mail delivery on May 10. Food items should be in non-breakable containers, such as boxes and cans. The nation's 230,000 letter carriers will then collect donations from homes across the country and deliver them to food bank members of America 's Second Harvest – The Nation's Food Bank Network and other hunger relief organizations in more than 10,000 local communities.

Take a quick visit to the Stamp Out Hunger website where you can sign up to get a reminder email the day before and you can also spread the word to friends and family. No matter what their location is in the country, they can participate.

So go forth, spread the word and help Stamp Our Hunger in your area!

That's really cool, I had never heard of that before. I wonder if they collect at Apartment Complexes as well.

I believe you can just leave it at your mailbox area where the mail carrier can see it. You can also bring stuff into your local post office.
